Nice. You spared no expense. And I doubt you could have bought a better hunting rifle at any price.
This is my first build ever. I was planning an elk hunt and at first I was just going to buy a factory rifle put a good scope on it and run with it but after a little research and figuring out building a rifle wasn't that hard I decided to take the dive as I feel it is more rewarding building my own. Well after a lot more money than I expected to spend and a little more weight than I anticipated I have it done. I think it looks awesome I just hope it shoots awesome!

Nice looking rifle! How's it shoot? What bullet you plan on launching out of it?
That seems like a very good choice for that rifle
let us know how it shoots
Very nice. That will do the trick for elk for sure.
Nice work. Great to see the bolt on the correct side
They who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.
Good selection of parts. Should serve you well.
Now good luck on your next six or so builds
and spending a lot of time outside with your dog at night.

Good job sir. That's a sweet looking rifle.
Very nice looking rifle! I did the same barrel but in 280AI a couple years ago. Shoots good but is a heavier than I had originally planned. Be sure to keep up posted on your shooting!
Ahh...they're all on the correct side, just gotta put your face on appropriate side 😉. Scooter
I went out and did a quick break in with 20 rounds then took it out shooting at rocks. I was using the Hornady precision hunter 200 grain eldx loads and I was putting hits on targets at 585 yards. Needless to say I am pleasantly surprised with how well it shoots already!

Nice lefty, She ought to serve you well.
A good wife and a steady job has ruined many a great hunter.
Have you put it in a scale yet? How do you like the game scout?
Looks like a great build

That is not to bad. I really like the light varmint contour. It is a nice happy medium.

sweet looking rifle, im curious as im looking at the game scout for a shorty .308 elk/deer rifle to lug around the mountains here in CO, did you go with a DBM or blind mag? ive heard from McMillan they wont inlet for a dbm on the savage game scouts and i have heard from CDI that that have and can inlet the savage game scouts for a DBM. just want to see what way you went.
is your rifle centerfeed or stagger?
hmmm interesting, i was told they wouldn't inlet the game scout for a dbm on the centerfeed savage actions. guess ill have to try someone else at mcmillan!
