Guys, help me out a bit here –

I have been pounding my head against a wall because this is so confusing. I am looking for a Savage Classic, with a nice Monte Carlo comb stock, in .308 (Hinged Floorplate).

Basically, a Euro Classic with a hinged floorplate instead of a magazine. My 2008 Savage catalog shows this exact model as the 14 Classic, part # 17941. On Gunbroker, the stock photos list this gun as exactly what I want, but on savagearms.com the gun is pictured with a straight comb and a shadowline cheekpiece.

I’ve called and spoken to 3 different people at Savage, and they were very nice, but did not really give me a clear answer. The best I got was that the 14 Classic and American Classic are identical except for the shadowline cheeckpiece, while the Euro Classic has a Monte Carlo comb.

My question: Does Savage currently make a Classic Series rifle, in .308, with a hinged floorplate and a Monte Carlo comb?
