    Optics for my benchrest switchbarrel

I am torn. Presently my rifle is under construction. I have both 6BR and 6.5 Creedmoor barrels for it.

Soon I must make a decision on optics. I love the Nightforce Competition but that scope is about $2500. I will only have about $1200 in the rifle. Seems to defeat the purpose of a budget benchrest rifle to spend.twice as much on optics.

I would go with the Nightforce Benchrest but they just don't have enough vertical adjustment and lack a zero stop.

Looking for.advice here. I would like the budget to be about what I put into the.rifle

What yardage are you looking to shoot. i.e. what power scope are you looking for?

Looking for the options you are after, you might have to go used for that price.

If you are military, law enforcement, or public service professional you may have another option - Bushnell, Leupold & Vortex all offer special pricing to people in those professions.

I am old and need all the magnification I can get. With the BR small groups out to 600 yrds. With the creedmoor out to 1000. I know many shoot with 10X but I like small groups and have found that greater magnification makes it easier. Aim small miss small. I have a vx-6 7-42 that works pretty good.

for what you want and what you want to spend the night force BR scope is about your only option...call bruno shooter supply all night force.com and bear basin they all have used scopes at good prices...the BR model is only $1200 at all night force i think....and 50 MOA of elevation should be more than enough.

I've not seen many reviews, but all of those I've seen have been favorable. The glass is supposed to be as good as that in the Razor line.

Works just fine. I have one on a rifle and testing it out. I have never used a scope with such high power so it's taking some getting used to over about 30x but the glass is very good and the ECR reticle is nice with it's small dot for precision shots. It's worth a hard look if it fits your needs.

    Yep

Highest magnification I have now is 42X. it can be a challenge to find your target.

My question is do you find it difficult to find just the right head position/eye relief to see through the scope?

Not at all. Once set up properly there's no problem getting in behind it.

Weaver Classic T-36. Might find a sweet deal on a used one if you know where to look.

Here's one for 415.00 Jump on it.
