    Savage Accutrigger

I Just purchased a used Model 10 FCP-SR and first time at the range I had problems where I would chamber a round and trigger would lock up.

I had to lift the bolt to reset Trigger, place safety on lower bolt handle to closed position and the take safety off and Trigger would set and I could fire the round.
I fired a box of shells like this. Rifle was very accurate but what a pain.

I got home looked up somethings on here and removed stock. It looked like last owner had turned the adjusting screw in hard and spring was really wound tight. I turned it out to about half way and with dummy rounds it seemed to work ok.
I had it back to the range and it seems ok.

My question is this, It states if you turn screw in to far it damages the spring. My spring really doesn't look very good compared to my other Accutrigger on my other Savage.

Is this spring something I can buy or is it something I have to get through a Savage warranty place? I hope not as One of my other Savages is on its third trip to the Savage warranty place here in Canada. And I am not having the best of luck dealing with them. Hope some one can refer me to a cure for this

you can get one from one of the savage gunsmiths either
    http://northlandshooterssupply.com/
    or
    http://www.sharpshootersupply.com/

with the spring and adjusting, for me if I go to far down the gun will fire so my minimum is 2 turns out from there

I have asked both dealers/gunsmiths and both have said they will not ship to Canada

Turn the accutrigger adjustment screw one turn less than minimum and make sure the spring is seated properly.

Mine got erratic and same thing, one turn in, works fine and frankly I like the release at that tension better.

well aware of these, one has had one of my rifles 3 times still hasn`t fixed the problem in fact it has gotten worst each time they have had it. I will contact one of the others and see what they say.
