    Scope Mounting Solution

Ok I finally got all my parts in for my first build and everything was going great until the scope was mounted. The rear talley ring is touching my magnification ring on my scope. Is there another variation of talley one piece ring to fix this? Should I file off a portion of the base to make it fit? Everything will be cerakoted so I don't mind filing off part of the base if that isn't frowned upon. Here are the pics

And this is why i use a rail. If you are going to have it coated then just file an ample amount off so it will not touch after everything is finished. Right now you are putting pressure on the scope because it is touching where it shouldn't.

I think I may have found a solution if I get the extended version of these rings I think that would allow me to move the scope back a little.

If that is the correct location for proper and comfortable eye relief, then you'll be moving into a slightly unnatural position by moving the entire scope back. In that case, I would file or dremel off a bit of the rear base. If you can move the scope back without throwing off your eye relief, then the extended mount will probably work.

get a one piece rail and and some good rings. then move the rings to where you have enough clearance to get the scope positioned just right
