sierra 69gr TMK

not much data out there on the new sierra 69gr TMK, going to a 500yd range later in the week, i have some 75 Amax's loaded, i want to try the Sierra 69gr TMK, i have a few loaded with 24 RL 15, 24 H4895 and 24 Varget and 24.5 Varget, are there any other loads to try. will be shooting the Model 12FV

Chet, Have you tried a load workup for your rifle? There are a couple of ways to do this. One being the optimal charge weight method. AKA the OCW method.

i have the 75 amax figured out, but just starting with the 69tmk, not familiar with the opt chg or the ocw method, unless it's some type of a ladder test, which i really never got satisfied results.

Somethings things that will help your results. New, newer or annealed brass for consistent neck tension. A proven repeatable powder charge method, Double weighing each load. Many would be surprised at the variations on an improperly used and maintained beam scale or a cheap electronic scale. Properly seated primer for consistent ignition.

going to do some annealing later this week, i have a good beam scale, there are times i get a tough primer to seat, been using the lee hand primer that is very very old, maybe time for a new or better primer seater

I liked the older lee auto prime but the handle breaks easily if you are a knuckle dragger like me. If you cn remove and replace the pan with a load in it several times with repeatability you are good to go. If not we need to talk about some maintenance and practices to improve your setup.

I am trying a load variation today. 69 TMK, 25.9 gr. Varget, loaded to within .005 of lands. Was jumping .030 previously and printing some pretty tight groups out to 200 yds, but decided to chase the lands a bit as this new barrel breaks in and see if I can get rid of the fliers. I'll post the results later this week.
