Factory Stock / Action Assembly Gap

Is it normal for there to be a gap, under the safety part of the action and the factory stock on a model 10? Or is my action not in the stock correctly?

That is good, they are more accurate, if the tang does not touch stock.

Ok cool. I have been adjusting the torque on the stock/receiver screws because I had been experiencing some mag feeding issues so i loosened it up a bit....

BTW: good to know that's called a "tang"
