    New Guy

Hello from Minnesota, I found this forum when I bought a Savage Stealth BA 10 in .308. I was wondering if anybody has this weapon. Granted it is fairly new on the market. The 308 does not come with a muzzle break like the 300 Win Mag or 338. I was wondering if anybody knows what muzzle break vendor savage uses on these guns. I know the Army has tested these in Ft.benny GA. And the breaks have been tried and tried. I would like the same one on mine so I don't have to do all the testing to find the right one that works the best. if it's good for the Army then it's good for me. Thanks for any info you may have.

Welcome to the site. I am also looking at breaks for my stealth. So far I am liking coretac or mpa... not sure which yet!! Its hard to find any info on these guns yet, both products above are reputable so I'm stuck. Badger ordnance is also on my list. Let us know if you try any and I will also, good luck!

Welcome - can't help with the question. If you post it in Other Firearm Accessories you may have more traffic.

Thanks for all the welcomes, Jrs81, I ordered my break right thru Savage Arms for $32.00 + $7.00 shipping. It's the same make they put on the 300 WM and 338 from the factory.

Hey so myself and another person on here ran into a few issues and curious if yours is the same. He happened to notice his barrel was only 22" and not 24 like they were advertised, I measured mine and sure enough, 22". He had already called savage and they had told him they'd put on a new barrel for him, I am calling tomorrow. Issue 2 with mine, was at the range this afternoon and did a double take at the gun, the nut that connects the butt stock to the chassis was rusted! I hadn't payed any attention to it prior but after noticing the rust I realized the nut has absolutely no finish on it. The chassis should be cerekoted and somehow the nut must have got missed, is yours the same by chance??

Thanks for the heads up, What caliber do you have. Everything I have seen was 20 inch for the 308,I measured my 308 and its 18 inch. I will be calling tomorrow, and I have no rust.

Wild child, I have the 6.5. spoke with savage this morning and the gun has to be sent back for a new barrel, they were aware of the issue and friendly to deal with. That's crazy yours is a .308 and also shorter than advertised! The guy at savage I spoke with said it was a marketing issue not a manufacturer problem. I'm sure they'll take care of you as it's their fault, let us know would ya!

As for the magazine problem. MDT tells you to only put in 9 rounds in the mag, I know this because I have two other chassis made by them, and I love them. I have a Axis 223 on a LSS chassis and we are hitting targets at 1000 yards. The only fault is the thin barrel and I can shoot about 15 rounds before they get squirrely. Not to bad for a inexpensive gun
