I'm new to the site, but not new to the Savage 99.
I have recently acquired a Savage 99C, Series A in .308 Win.
I'm having a hard time dating the rifle, since there isn't any lever boss code.
It has pressed checkering on the wood.
The Serial # is B442782.
It also has a Y just under the Savage 99C, Series A stamping as well.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
