1680 burns a little too fast for the case capacity/bore size relationship of the 17Rem. It makes a great pistol powder for the heavier bullets though.
Has anyone used AA1680 in the 17 Remington? Was gifted with a lb and would like to try it.

I was just wondering, I can remember using it in the 7.62x39 and the 38-55 at one time
Yes, it works well for cartridges with smaller case capacity/bore size relationships. I use it in the 6.8SPC, but it's worthless in the 22/6.8. I think the 22/6.8 is pretty close ratio-wise to the 17 Rem.

AA1680 works real well in 22 Hornet & 22 K Hornet. With 40 gr bullets.
Way too fast for .17 Rem.

I did find a load for the 17 fireball (not the 17 em) using 15.3 gr and a 25 gr bullet
