The choate is probably the cheapest option that includes a bedding block. I think hs precision offers one too, as well as b&c.

I have the new savage 12 fv. in 223, looking for a stock that has a bedding block and suited more for bench shooting and a good palm swell grip. What are my choices

so far i come up with these 2 stocks, is one more suited for bench shooting than the other.
Bell & Carlson Tactical Medalist Style 2
Choate Tactical Savage Stock
thanks
Chet
Both have an excellent bedding system. Both can serve well at the bench. The Choate is by far the heaviest. Both are too heavy for a carry rifle, IMO. Both give the excellent bedding features at a very reasonable price.
After good bedding, to Me, the most important feature of a stock is, how well it fits Me. I like my B&C, but I modified it a good bit to make it so. The only way to know if a stock fits is to shoulder it and get a site picture. :-)
Hi FW Honch
thanks for your input there, i am going to see who has the Choate Tactical for a short action with the 4.4 screw centers in stock,
Chet
