The two screws in front of the trigger guard are take-down screws. They are what hold the action to the stock. If it has a metal plate on it, I am not familiar with that. Must be from an older model. Current bind mags have what looks like a floor plate molded into the plastic stock. Just there for looks.
I would say that's a bit steep for used. The best deals on Savage right now are two Cabelas exclusive models... 12fv (about $419 if not on sale) and a $100 rebate thru June. Tough to find, though. THe 10T is $600, normally, no current rebate.
Normally, I don't want to pay more than $300 for a used blind mag.
But, hey, it's a toy, right? If you like it and want it NOW, you could have fun with it this weekend, still.
