    the new e-action

recently savage changed the rimfire actions to the e-action which works for both 22lr and 22mag. both rifles use the accutrigger. the mark II is also made with a crappy standard trigger.
now since the actions are identical, why won't savage retro fit the accutrigger to the non-accutrigger action?
also that savage gunsmith out west won't do it either. WHY??? ???
getting info out of savage is like pulling teeth.
    thx if you can help

    Re: the new e-action

There's more to it than meets the eye, the actions are NOT identical...The non accutrigger receivers use a completely different bolt than the accutrigger models. The new E receiver accutrigger models have a different accutrigger than the first version.
Savage will not retro- fit anything, they are in the business of selling guns, not upgrading them.

plus one action is longer than the other, and the mounting bolt spacing is different.

thanks for the replies. it's a beautiful rifle but that trigger is awful.
I did shim it and it's improved but now all I can do is hope rifle basix makes a sear for it someday.
