EGW recoil lug for Savage without pin.

I have an EGW recoil lug for Savage but the lug doesn't have the alignment pin, how difficult it is to install a lug without a pin on a Savage action, any tool? An action wrench will do the job?

Not the end of the world, but need to have some way to properly "hold" it. My Marlin X7 doesn't have a pin either, so I stuck it in the vice, and did my thing.
I'm a firm believer in the theory that if it bleeds, I can kill it.

I made a jig with some pieces of hardwood when I changed my X7 barrel. I noticed SSS new action wrench has a built in jig to hold the recoil lug straight for Remington 700s. Wonder if that will work for the Marlin, Remington, and Savage. I'm gonna order one, one of these days.

Edit: I meant Northland Shooter Supply, not SSS.

Only potential issue with the savage wrench, is the X7 lug is tapered, so it may "cant" to the side.
