I just bought my stealth and pick it up later. I have also bought a Vortex Razor 5-20x50. I am getting the Spuhr rings to mount the scope, it comes with a 20 MOA adjustment in the mounting system. I bough a harris bi-pod. So is there any recommendations as to what else I should purchase with this stealth?
The Luth MBA-1 or 3 would be good choices for a stock replacement if you don't like the factory stock.
Pictures from Talladega - had issues linking to photobucket so embedded images with link to larger photo.

Got a ways to go on reading wind, but best I have done to date. Ballistic computer had me high so needed a few sighting rounds at 600. The 200 yd proves this rifle is extremely accurate. 40.5 H4350 using Berger 130 OTM.

What program are you using to measure the spread of the group?
OnTarget PC, cheap and really works well. Builtin in Reloaders Workshop, but stand alone is easier to use in my opinion.
Picked up a new rifle to replace my Remington 110 FCP 300 WM. Details will be posted on Stealth 300WM First Impressions. Here are some pics. Not the best, taken on workbench while cleaning and prepping for range.

Close up of rail, made for scope and night vision, nice touch
Off to range tomorrow, will shoot 5 factory rounds then 10 Final Finish #1 rounds. Finally for tomorrow will finish up with Final Finish #2. Will then clean fully and prep next set of Final Finish #3 - #5 to finish up breaking in the barrel.
So far this is a great feeling rifle.
What is the bolt release configuration for the Stealth SA 6.5? I have a Model 10T in 6.5 and am honestly put off by the limitations the bottom bolt release style action has on the compatibility of aftermarket parts.

I wouldn't shoot final finish in it.
Range trip tomorrow to work on loads. Also trying Berger on the Lapua and 300 WM.
Hope to sell my 2 old rifles, someone is scheduled to meet me at the range.
Will try and post results Tues or Wednesday.
homefrontsniper - I've used Final Finish 5 times now with great results. Have you had a different experience? Took 200 rounds on my wifes RPR to break in, 50 Final Finish did the same job for me. All can shot >.5 when I do my part.
DenverDave - Bolt release is to right side of bolt. Easy to use. Draw bolt back, press release and hold trigger down. Slides right out. My Sons remy 700 is down on tirgger guard, don't like the near as much.
He switched to a extreme 2 stage trigger, it is also in trigger guard.
Final Finish is a subject for another thread. I have read some bad reviews from the use of it on the net? I am surprised to hear it being used as a matter of fact?
How do I know I need it?
How much is enough?
Can I do the same thing with Flitz?
Should high end barrel makers be using the process? ???
I hate how Savage makes these changes... moving the bolt release around from model to model. Frankly it makes zero sense to me. My 10T is of the bottom release variety. This means I can't use the SSS triggers or SAV-2 trigger. Also my chassis had to be modified to use the BBR (on the side of the trigger guard now on my XLR chassis) which takes away from its secondary market value. Why savage made this change, then switched back (the Stealth is a newer model than the 10T) is beyond me and frankly left a bad taste in my mouth regarding savage guns in general.

My 110 FCP had same release as Stealth, only other Savages I have (had just sold it). So no other experience there.
FW Conch - I think you may be thinking of another Final Finish product. Tubb Final Finish are SMK bullets impregnated with lapping compound. Grit changes from course to fine as you progress through bullets. It is referred to as fire forming and has been written about pretty thoroughly. David Tubb is an 11 time NRA Long Range Champion, so he knows his stuff.
Used on 5 rifles with good result.
Range Report - Not!
My scope packed it in. Having to send back for warranty work (lifetime luckily). So nothing really to report.
How far did your throat move?
Have not measured - will try and get a reading. David Tubbs states .003 I believe based on memory. Groups I posted for 300WM are after Final Finish, for .338 during Final Finish rounds.
Photo of Talladega CMP 600 yd range
Targets are at 200, 300 and 600. The 600 is way back in the shadow, left of barrel.
Great deal - 10 bucks and hour and 30 for all day. worth a drive, we go over about every 3-4 weeks.
After using 2 long action Stealth's I am wondering if the little hang in chambering occasionally might not be the magazine. Use PMag which works better, however my long actions using Accurate Mag's do not hang at all. Anyone using Accurate Mag that can comment? What Accurate Mag is the correct one?
I sure do like the feel of the Accurate Mag in the 300WM & 338.
Asked on another forum about bipod mounts.
For Harris type sling attach, the rifle comes with an appropriate stud.
If you have a rail mount what I recommend might be a more secure choice. MDT makes a rail that fits the Chassis. I removed the front sling stud from chassis and mounted the rail where is was. Brownells has part# 100-009-791WB MDT 5.0 Rail with QD Sling Point Mfr Part: 102215BLK. It works perfectly and is very snug.
Wish I had a range like yours locally. I have to drive 3 hrs but get up to 1000 yards when I drive that far. With owning the 6.5, 308, 300wm, and the 338 LM, should keep you busy for a long time. Still considering selling my 6.5 to fund the 338LM. Got a itch for a heavy hitter since selling my 50BMG.
Savage 10 FCP-SR 308, 300BO PCS
My local is 100yds, Talladega is about 3 hours. Long drive but worth it, like outdoor and longer range. Also can shoot prone or bench.
They are both good rifles. Personally the 300WM & 338 Lapua seem better in terms of bolt and magazine. Feed is flawless and smoooth!
I like the heavy hitter and it manages recoil exceptionally well (IMO). Having made the plunge I am really happy with choices and training should be cross platform. With reloads for 6.5 at .70 to .80 cents with my favorite Berger OTM bullets, it should make for a more sustainable long-term result. I also use Berger 185 OTM on 300WM (about 1.30-1.50) and 300 OTM on 338 (estimated 1.50-2.00 a round). If the 338 ends up shooting like the 300WM, I will be one happy camper.
