Axis Hardwood

Has anyone seen or handled the axis hardwood that is posted on the savage site , or are they even available yet.

Had an opportunity to handle one for a few minutes at the NRA Show. Can't recall which type of wood laminate they used, maybe a walnut, but I can remember thinking that it wasn't to bad. The price which I think is in the mid 400's seemed steep for an AXIS XP II model, but then again I am a cheap ass!! They do have some available on Gun Gallery for $506.00 but I would look elsewhere in a few weeks like Bud's.
