using a regular recoil lug on a axis

anyone milled the front of their axis to flush to use a regular recoil lug ? ?
it would make it a lot handier to bed it in non axis stocks

Sharpshooter Supply (Fred) does that when he trues and times them. Makes sense to me. Not ready tot ry it myself, though. If I had a mill I would, though.

I would do it in a lathe.

I have done all of mine faced action off in a lathe then milled the slot for the lug takes about 30 min. to do both setups
