want 6.5 creedmoor barrel

I have a Savage/McMillan in 308 I want the same barrel and nut in 6.5 creedmoor I was told all I would need is a pre fit barrel nut and head space gauge.

I am not sure, I guess I could call Savage.

You can tell a coupe of ways...small shank barrel nut is about 7/8" and large shank is about 5/8" and large shank will have a small step down right at the muzzle end of the barrel nut...for the contour measure the barrel at the end of the muzzle then order the barrel accordingly or order a bull barrel and open the barrel channel up on the stock.
