6.5 Creedmoore Factory Ammo Best Accuracy

I just picked up a savage model 10T in 6.5 Creedmoore. Wondering what ammo I should feed it for The best accuracy for strictly target shooting. From what I have read people get good results from Horaday A-Max 120gr. I will be shooting long range so was thinking a heavier bullet maybe better. Horaday has 140gr ELD Match. Winchester also makes 140gr match factory ammo. What results have folks had with the different options on the market? Thanks, Dave

Try some different loads to see what the rifle likes but definitely try the 140 ELD-M load from Hornady. They shoot great in my rifle. With the 140 ELD-M bullet and it's .610 BC it will do very well at long range.

Nice group Rob. I have a box of ELD-M for my next range trip. I am also interested in Prime OTM Match (BC .583), another user just introduced that load to me. Also, anyone tried Winchester Match? The Win has a BC of .580 and a slightly lower price tag. Lastly, anyone familiar with Nosler Custom Comp Match HPBT (no BC posted on website)?

The Winchester has been shown to shoot well although I have never tried it. It uses the Hornady 140 BTHP bullet.

Nice grouping rob. Wish mine was that good. Sent mine back to savage due to shooting like crap with 140 ELD-M and 129 SST. Glad you folks have good rifles.

Just talked to savage about my rifle. Said there test at the 100 yard range produced .9 groups so coming back with nothing done on it. Have some Hornady 143 ELD-X to try. If it still shoots like crap, looks like either sell it or order another barrel.

I shot a couple hundred rounds of the ELD match and love it. I personally wouldn't shoot the AMAX's but that is just me. The ELD-M ammo is incredibly accurate. I have shot is out to 500 yards with excellent results.

Tried the win 140gr. Only shot 2 groups but results where pretty good. Had better results with ELD-M but then again I have shot a lot more of it...

So far I've tried the 120gr. A MAX, the 129 SST, and the 143gr. ELD-X......so far, the 143's have been the best.

I got out to the range Monday with some reloads. Tried RL-17 and Superformance with 140 ELD-M with good results. Chrono'd 2795 fps with 42.0 gr of RL-17 with good grouping. You can see the rest of the chrono data on both powders and targets in the build section under OT Core

There seems to be a lot of buzz around prime. Anyone here shot it? Seems that the sav barrels like the heavy 142/143gr bullets. Interested to hear if the light 130gr Prime performs.

Had my third trip out with my Patriot Valley Arms rebarreled 6.5 Creedmoor and got 80 rounds through it now and it's shooting great. Different rifle than what shot the above group. Below are some groups with Hornady 140 ELD-M factory loads. The 300 yard shot with the purple X through it isn't mine. I left the clean paper up the other day and someone shot it so I just shot around it. The pulled shot to left is mine but it's still 1/2 MOA with it included From the 28" barrel they are coming out about 2860fps. I am very happy with Josh's work.
