Savage 12 fv cabelas question

I'm considering buying this in 308 for a future built, my question is I have a model 10 fpsr barreled action laying around can I use the take off stock to make the model 10 a complete rifle?

I think so but I am only getting into this, both should have the same screw spacing. Room forward of the lug in the stock if the 10 FP SR has a thicker one.

The 12FV is a very basic stock (I don't think it gets more basic), it would not do justice to a 10 FP SR.
