    Ren 783

    I'm sure this has been discussed and might even be a sticky somewhere:

    Is the barrel/receiver thread pitch the same between a Rem 783 and a Savage 110/10??
    Are barrels interchangeable?

    This is from an older post;

    The Remington 783 Rifles do not accept the Savage Small Shank Barrels as a direct replacements. The shank size and thread pitch do match but the chamber is not machined as deeply as the Savage. Remington's floating bolt head is slightly deeper and the head spacing will be off.

    Criterion is currently making us a Hand Lapped Match Grade replacement barrel for these Remington 783 rifles. I already have a 6.5X284 Norma in the works for the Model 783 that I have apart at this time. More information on this project as the barrel arrives.
