Second Savage a lot smaller than the first

Well, I just picked up my second Savage rifle - a 93R17 FXP combo. My other Savage is a Model 99 in .300 Savage...just a little difference. Tomorrow, barring horrific weather (I'm in Seattle, so anything can happen) I'll get her out to the range for her first shots. Figure I'll make it a rimfire day and take the Marlin Model 60, too.

I do have one question - does anyone know what scope comes on the new FXP's? I know it's a Bushnell, but I have no idea if it's a rimfire-specific model or just some surplus 3-9x40 they had laying around. Hopefully it works decently, but I'm not holding my breath.

I'm sure I'll have more questions along the way, so bear with me. Have a good one, y'all!

Well, I've officially been bitten by the rimfire bug. I've had my 93R17 FXP for a week and have already added a Ruger American .22 WMR to the family. These things are just plain fun! Considering it was first time out with the .17 HMR, I was putting rounds into a 50-cent-piece sized hole at 100 yds before my scope went buggy. I'll have both of the kids out on Monday to see how they compare!

Check the scope mounts. That is the first thing I replace on a savage. I sold my 93r17 a few weeks ago and I am already missing it.

Oh, it'll still get plenty of love. I leave LOTS of brass at the range! Here are the kids - Marlin Model 60 .22 LR on the top, Ruger American .22 WMR in the middle and Savage 93R17 below. I may get a Boyd's stock for the Savage and paint the Ruger, but it can wait.

Quite Frankly I was made an offer I cold not pass up. The buyer new exactly what I had in it and jumped quite a bit because he wanted that one. The trigger work put it over the top.
