I bought a model 11 center feed .223. I also purchased a Boyd stock that I am going to put it in. The stock requires DBM. I see a lot of the DBM's for sale that use the .308 class of cartridges. What I am wondering is if a .223 magazine will work in the .308 DBM?
The outside dimensions of the 223 and 308 DBM are the same. There is the plastic tab on the 11 trophy Hunter that is from the Axis. Then there is the other magazine with no tab and the release lever is on the magazine frame. Depending on the Boyds you ordered, it may be inletted for the latter.
If your stock has the removable DBM frame, it should go into the Boyds.
What I am looking at is buying bottom metal for a model 10, with 4.40 screw spacing. This is for 308 with magazine latch on the bottom metal. Then I would have to buy a 223 mag.

Ahh.. Just found a SN for a stainless DBM for another member. I'll add it so you have one to look at.I don't know one with black metal at this time. The CF 223 and 308 will mount into the same floorplate.
Model 16 243 SS with HFP - SN - J127725 . It's a plain SS one. 243 and 308 use the same magazine AFAIK. I didn't have a regular DBM.
