    poor mans LRPV


    my buddy has a 12 lrpv ,,,, the left loading ports is a nice feature,,,, thinking of buy a left handed axis and installing a right hand bolt,, has anyone done this , any comments, thanks

    Personally haven't done it but I believe others have.

    How about building left load, right eject, from right hand action. Simply machine left side of action for loading port.

    Fred Moreno (sharpshooter) has. I think he got the RBLP one and someone else here (Mr Furious, maybe) got the LBRP. As I recall he milled the ramps of the bolt lug shelf to ensure proper lockup. Otherwise, Axises would just require putting a RH bolt handle on the LH bolt. A RH stock would also be needed or the LH stock modified slightly.

    thanx all for your reply ,,,,, Dr ,,,, so ,,, are you saying there is some machining required to make this work ??? , other than adding a right bolt and dealing with stock issue,,,, ty

    Unless I'm mistaken, the ramps in the receiver need to be cut or the primary extraction ramp will not allow the bolt to go fully into battery.

    Yep, the ramps need to be cut to match the bolt rotation.
