Thread: Savage upgrades for shooting 'competition'

    Would the MPA be considered a rifle that would fit into the Production class rules? I guess I just assumed they intended it to be R700, Savages, Rugers , etc.

    Yes it fits the rules as a factory rifle from MPA and is within the $$$$ guidelines. They specifically designed it within those guidelines.

    LOL, I understand the price requirements. The question was about the reliability. If the Savage actions are no good in the heat of battle, why do you think they wouldn't use Remington actions? They could get them just as cheap!

    They have both, so the consumer has the choice!

    Really? I only see the Savage action listed under their "production" rifle.

    Thought I saw rem700's as well either in a FB post or on their website.

    Oh okay. The cool thing is you can get them in the popular open class 6.5 and 6 mm calibers.
