    Axis build on MDT chassis


    Axis action in 243 rebarrelled to 6.8SPC
    Barrel by Apache
    MDT LSS chassis
    Leo 3,5-10X glass
    Modified MDT 223 mag

    Nice! What's your barrel length, and is that an Accutrigger in there?

    I would like to try a chassis on one of my Axises. It'd be nice if MDT got around to offering an HS3 for the Axis, but there probably isn't enough interest.

    barrel is 18"
    I used an Axis ll for the build.
    Trigger is right at 3#

    So far only did sight-in with Federal factory ammo, mainly because it was cheap. Didn't want to waste high dollar bullets on sight-in
    The Fed ammo gave sub MOA. Hand loads will probably give improved results, but with only 10X max magnification, I don't expect too much.
    Minute of deer/hog has already been achieved.and that was all I cared to get.

    now I am thinking I need this instead of waiting on the HS3. did you use a larger recoil lug? and if so what the pn or who makes them. thanks

    The chassis is cut for the use of the Axis lug

    please explain what justifies moving this thread to this topic.
    the emphasis was the build not the stock.
    once moved it totally died
