Finally a nice day for a trip to the range. Purchased a bunch of the ELD bullets beginning of the year when they came out. Already have the 178 ELD honed at 42.9 grains of varget. Made up a spread to try the 208 ELD-M match a couple months ago to have ready for a good day. The grains of varget used is next to the target. The bottom center was the 178 gr ELD to foul the barrel a bit. For me, the 41.0 grains of varget (bottom left) looks good. Real close to the lands but don't have that info right now to post.

good shooting...oddly enuff.......that's the same number I came up with for my 308 11.25 5r 24". only difference is the pill. (150gr smk) .010 from the lands 41,0gr varget

After talking to someone thats real good shooting 308 with heavy pills, will be using the 39.6 data to tweek from there. Did have case swipes with 41.0 gr but primers looked good. No issues with brass with 39.6. Plus 1 grain above max published data on hornady reload book. After punching both data in my ballistic app, the 39.6 doesn't go subsonic until 1342 yards which works for me.

Lines going down the sides of the brass. Even though the primers looked good, this is another indication of high pressure as the case expanded real tight extracting after the shot. Could leave it at that level of powdr but don't want to damage the brass/shorten the life of the brass. I was using lapua brass which is expensive. Think I paid 75 bucks for 100. Only use lapua brass to load develop on the 308. Or if I ever get into competition shooting. Its the best.

A "Swipe" on a case that indicates pressure is from the ejector and not chamber imprint. Lines on the case body are usually from the sizing die.
I worked up a load for my brothers 10fcp-k with 208amax and 41.6gr of Varget was the sweet spot on the ladder. (41.3 & 41.9 had the same poi at 330yards), Lapua brass, BR2, 2,455 fps. 2.945" coal, kissing lands.
The lapua brass had no marks on mine prior to loading them up in the rifle. Thats why I was thinking it was from the higher load. But with you getting higher than me, may rethink what my pet load will be. Wish I would have brought my sled bed during this time to eliminate my flinching. Probably could have done better. What length of barrel is on that 10fcp-k? Did you get any chrono data on those shots?

My opinion on sleds. How many competitive shooters in any competition use a sled to work up a load? None. 'Nough said.

Nice to rule out human error. Since I don't compete, really don't give a rats ass on what competitive shooters do. That's there business.
