    Apache Barreled 6.5 Creedmoor Break-in

Finally caught the opportunity to do some shooting. Very pleased with the results. These are all Hornady 140 ELD factory loads from 100 yards. All shot through my Silencerco Harvester 30.

    First 5 round group:

    Second 5 round group:

    Third 5 round group:

    Fourth 5 round group:

    Fifth 5 round group:

    The whole target:

I wish I had the time to shoot a few more groups. It's always exciting to see a new barrel break in and the groups tighten up.

Nice shooting and it should get better around 100-200 rounds.

Nice groups. Did you follow any certain "break in" procedures?

No "procedure". Just 7 rounds to zero and then started shooting for groups. It's not an x-caliber. Just the standard blank he uses.

It's a GM barrel then. From what I've read, and heard from James himself, those GM barrels perform well for their price point. Its great getting those results in short order. I was going GM b u t decided on an x caliber instead.
Nice looking rig. I'm seriously looking into a can for my next build. Shooting buddy let me try one of his. Wow. I can see why all of his rigs have cans. Those silencerco,s are affordable.

I've got a 6.5 Creed barrel from Jim done with a Green Mountain blank that I've shot a .197" 5 shot group with. Love it. Jim's work is top notch.

The can is probably the best investment I've made. It is SO nice to shoot without muffs/plugs in. Doesn't fatigue you at all to shoot for a few hours.

Exactly. that's what I quickly found out. I could get used to that.

Ive already ordered a 26" x-caliber barrel in 260 rem from Jim. Got other things Ill need to order but I agree with you. I need to invest on a silenserco. It may take some time but Im good with that. I just recently gave my old FCP model 10 HS new life so I wont need a barrel for that one. I,ll instead build another. Is that a Manners stock you have on yours?

Gonna be ordering a silencerco on .223 for one of my bull target gas gun rigs.
    I got outstanding news today!.........
The Ford dealership I work at was given an Enco Lathe by a customer whose husband had passed away. She needed it out of her garage so we gathered some techs together and loaded up and took it to the garage.
It just so happens one of the service advisers used to be a tool and die machinist and has extra attachments Im gonna need to thread a couple of my barrels!...heck yeah!
Im threading one of my 223 gas gun bull barrels first then hopefully Ill order up the silencerco 30 for my 260 LRP and thread that barrel later this summer!

I have a funny feeling customers are gonna be pist when they find out the reasons there cars not ready is because Im stuck in the machine room working on my barrels instead of there car. olololololo
