Hi again folks. I want to swap the front blade (and rear) to something like a Williams Fire Sight set.
The problem is, the only attempts I've seen to remove the front sight blade have been to support the ramp with a dowel or something similar and then to hit the blade with a hammer and punch. This has in some cases resulted in breaking off or stripping out the ramp base screw. But in my case, I want to keep it.
Is there an actual tool or can anyone help me get creative to come up with something that might work like a pusher tool? It may be possible to fabricate something...

I wonder if they make one for poor people. Or for someone who is going to use it one time and doesn't want to spend that much on something that is otherwise going to spend the rest of its days in a sock drawer.
30 years ago such a tool likely would have cost $10, but considering very few rifles today are sold with open sights there's not near the demand for it and thus lower demand = lower production volume = higher price.

A local smith might well have a tool and make the swap for less that the tool cost. It reduces the DYI fun factor a bit
Which Williams Fire Sight set you will put on your rifle?
I want a front fiber optic blade and the two dot rear fiber optic.

I can't find a link directly to the one I'm wanting, but follow the link and its the last one on the page. It looks just like the Hog Hunter rear fixture but I imagine that sight has got to be shorter than the leaf it comes with so I'll have to talk to Williams and pick their brain on the height for the corresponding front.
If it helps, I have a take-off HH sight that I haven't been able to find a buyer for. It's yours if you want it.
