    New 243


    Here is a 243 I just finished up this weekend.

    Savage model 10 action (cerakoted OD green)
    Shilen 26" 243 Winchester select match barrel (cerakoted OD green)
    Tactical Works bolt handle (cerakoted black)
    PTG Stealth bottom metal (cerakoted OD green)
    Weaver 20 moa rail (cerakoted OD green)
    TPS TSR 34mm rings
    Weaver tactical 6-30X56 scope
    Boyds Pro Varmint stock (custom painted by me lol)
    Atlas bipod

    Good looking rig. Wish I had the patience to put into a rig like that. Did you do the cerakote or did you send it off?

    I took the metal parts to a place local for cerakote. I plan build an oven soon so I can cerakote the next one myself.

    what paint/colors did you use for the stock?

    The black is the base color that the stock shipped in. The other colors are rustoleum camouflage deep forest green and khaki then I covered it all in rustoleum matte clear.

    thanks, I am trying to decide on a paint scheme for my Boyd's pro varmint and I like that one

    As you can see the stock started out black and I used painters tape to make the shapes that I used to make the black spots. Once I had all of the areas taped off that were to stay black I sprayed the entire stock in in the khaki color. After letting the paint dry for a bit I applied more painters tape shapes where I wanted to keep the khaki color and then I sprayed the entire stock in green. Once that dried for a bit I carefully peeled off all of the painters tape to reveal the camo pattern.
