    History of Savage Arms

When did they switch from a slotted screw to an Allen bolt on the bolt?

Is there some place on the web where a timeline of sorts is layed out?

    Thanks in advance.

Yup, this web site, There is a several nice history articles in the article archives, you need to be a paid member to access them.

The screw change over was sometime around the late 80's and early 90's, when they almost went bankrupted, Saved by Robert Coburn, (1988-present) and around the time the new 2nd generation short action came out, and numbered with a 2 digit number.
