Got two Model 10 PHs one in .223 rem and a .243 Win. Would like to convert one to 6.5 grendel.
Would one be easier than another or is it basically the same?
Thank have never build a rifle!

Initially it would be easier to use the 243, because you can get by using the .473 bolt face, but you can't use the 223 bolt face with the Grendel. I bought the 7.62x39 bolt face for my Grendel build, but I haven't swapped it out yet. Maybe in May? Eather rifle would be suitable for the build, just depends which one you want to keep the same. :-)
FWConch has it right even though getting the PPC or 7.62x39 bolt face right away is prudent. I went with the PPC bolt face for my 20 Grendel build.
Also, strange as it seems, a Grendel / .223 pair covers a larger span of hunting and target possibilities than does a .243 / Grendel pair. The sole exception is serious competitive shlooting at ranges greater than 600 yards. Even then, you would need to be a very competitive shooter to see significant differences in scores between the Grendel and the .243 Winchester.
thanks guys. I know I need a new barrel, 7.62 or PPC bolt face, and 7.62x39 magazine. Anything else?
Keep us posted about the neat shooting you will do!
if you take off the 243 barrel and want to sale it let me know
