anybody build an NRA High power match rifle from a Savage?

I'm talking about an across the course rifle for 200 yard standing/siting, 300 yard prone and 600 yard slow prone. I only have three Savage rifles and I don't think the actions are smooth enough, but if there was a way to get there I might pursue the idea. I could use a space gun upper, but I like the idea of a better caliber. Thanks in advance.

With respect to your comments of the action I would start with a target action or the repeater target action. If you had bolt bind then fit a ptg bolt body with .002 or .003 clearance and have Fred Moreo time and true it for you. Have the barrel fit without the nut.
The Dunning-Kruger effect is alive and well.

My 18184 PTA really smoothed out nicely with nothing but TW25 grease and cycling it before I even screwed a barrel to it. Bet I buy a target action repeater when I stumble into the right one just because of the smoothness of the single shot.

I contacted SSS about getting my action timed and trued. I hope to get it done soon.
