Using JB weld to improve primary extraction

Hi guys. Has anyone used JB weld to build a "shim" on the rear bolt baffle to improve primary extraction? My idea is to build up the jb weld on the front of the baffle, the side closest to the receiver and them sanding it down until i get maximum primary extraction. Can anyone see any downside to doing this? Or any durability issues? This is my training/operating rifle so it sees quite a bit of abuse.

Yeah. Bonding epoxy to metal is difficult under the best of circumstances. Using a cheap epoxy like J.B. Weld further reduces your chances of success.

Do like I did (and many others) Drill and tap for a couple of 6/32 grub screws like this: http://i41.tinypic.com/14xctgp.jpg

Adjust them in and out to get the extraction you're looking for, being sure the parts are not skewed. Then use a drop of Locktite and you're good to go.

You can also use an end mill in a vertical mill to cut it off of the end of the bolt
The Dunning-Kruger effect is alive and well.

Nifty idea, I wish I would have thought of it!
