Identify my "new" Savage 99 .308

Hi and thanks for indulging a Savage newbie... My recent birthday present from me to me is an older Savage 99. I'd been looking for one in .308 and found it unexpectedly just in time for BDay.

I think it is a 1956 99RS, but I am a total novice at Savage identification.

Serial is 910XXX and here is a close up of the cartouche (?) on the frame by the lever.

    Any input appreciated!

(after dialing in the old Lyman 4X that was on the rifle, with 110 gr UltraMax ammo, it got 1" groups at 100 yards)

    Thanks for your input.

That rear sight is really floppy. Any idea where to find a replacement?

i would take a very small center punch and lightly punch the pivit point on one side, should stifen it but not prevent it from moving.
