Accutrigger weight from Factory (Model 12 FCV)

Years ago I bought a Mark II 22 LR, and the manual (or some other literature) said that the accutrigger was set to the lowest pull weight by the factory.

I just bought a Model 12 FCV in 223 and there is no information on the manual or elsewhere with regards to whether or not the accutrigger was set to the lowest weight by the factory and what the lowest weight is. Anyone have any idea?

PS, I tried emailing Savage but have gotten no response yet and it has been a few weeks (very uncharacteristic of them)....

If it's in its factory configuration, it should be equipped with the Varmint/LE trigger group, adjustable down to approximately 1.5 pounds and is more than likely not set to the minimum by the factory.

It's probably not set at it's lowest weight. I've adjusted my rifles to their lowest settings. Here's the results, using a probably inaccurate Wheeler spring gauge:
    Mod 10 2lb 9oz
    Mod 12FCV 2lb 4oz
    Mod 12BVSS 1lb 12oz
    MKII FVT 2lbs
I've talked to others that have tried basement gunsmithing in an attempt to achieve a 1.5lb Accutrigger. They developed problems with reliability, and in my mind, safety issues.

    Recently purchased 12FV 308:
2lb 15oz out of the box.
    1lb 13oz at the lowest.

By the spring position in the trigger, I would estimate that it was set about at the center of adjustment.

I don't know how light mine is (308) but it's light a little to light

Thanks for the quick responses. In case anyone is interested, I am very pleased with this gun out of the box. My initial load development hasn't produced a clear winner, but quite a few of the groups I shot (5 shot) were in the .5" - .6" range and very few were over 1", under sub-optimal conditions (time stress, cold weather, etc.). I'm excited to see what this thing can do under better conditions and with a lighter trigger.

My Target Accutrigger came out at 11.4 ounces from the factory.
