I've done it both ways. Opened up the notch, and reduced the screw head diameter.
Neither one was much more than a slight cleanup pass with a needle file. Two minutes tops.
I finally got the barrel off of a 111 action and all parts are in except the barrel from Apache Gun Works. But in "dry fitting" the parts I've discovered that the head of the set screw in the NSS recoil lug is larger than the notch in the action. Has anyone else had this issue? What did you do about it?
