I have heard of people using brute force, side cutters, forks; never ran across a special tool to do it. Usually I stand the firing pin up in a vise(sloppy loose), and do the brute force thing. And cross my fingers that I don't need to chase down flying parts. I have used side cutters/pliers/forceps before.

Thanks for the reply. was looking for something like the Kiff/Lambeth spring compressor. Brute strength being saved to open twist off caps on beer bottles. Been a long winter. Thanks,Jim
