new savage 12 6mm norma br( bad machine work)

This is the first time I have tried to post pic so bare with me.I just purchased this rifle last week, loaded a dummy round and was cycling the bolt and was rough as a cob,and this is what I found. The lug rails for the bolt looks like corn rows.So I took it back and I am waiting on a decision to see what they are going to do about it.The local gun shop may try to smooth it out or send it back to savage http://i1053.photobucket.com/albums/...psniwh6ihg.png

Ouch! I would send it back unless Savage is on-board with using a local smith to fix it.

Call Savage and tell them the issue. They will most likely send you a shipping label so you can send it back at no cost. They will make it right with you. Reputation is EVERYTHING in the gun business.
