Model 12FV top loading, blind mag

I recently purchased 12FV at Cabelas and rifle has blind mag.... would it be easier to load ammo with split scope mounts vs one piece mount. That is would one piece mount such as DNZ make it more difficult to load than 2 piece mount for lack of clearance between scope mount bar and breech? Thanks for input.....

I use Tally Lightweight 2-piece. You will have more room to load with 2-piece vs. 1-piece.

That's the info I was looking for..... I was hoping to use the one piece mount as I don't have a lapping tool and I have been told one piece mounts usually don't require lapping.
The Tallys look good and look like they provide more clearance to load. BTW RMgunner, are they high or med mounts and what dia is obj lens?

    Thank you both for replies.

+1. Tally Lightweight 2-piece. It holds well for me. I thought about bedding them to the receiver but fit is good and screws are staying put for now. This is a 223 rem though.

Still, I have had good luck with DNZ game Reapers on these and so do a number of friends. The base is set back to the left a bit, it doesn't completely cover the port.

I just replaced the two piece leupold mounts with a 20 moa EGW mount. Loading is not a problem with my 223. Eliminated a few problems once I went with a one piece mount.

Carson, the O.D. of the objective end is 2.000" (51mm). It's a 42mm lens. The rings/mounts are 'Med' height. The objective end would barely clear the barrel with 'Low' height but with 'Low's the power adjustment ring won't clear the rear mount. Also, you wouldn't want any less clearance for the bolt handle than what you get with the 'Med' mounts.

The rifle is a Sav 10 Predator Hunter Max-1. The barrel is medium heavy about equal to a #5 taper.

I use a Leupold mount. It is a one piece with a relief on the right side. I have a 12fv in .223 and it does not hinder loading of the blind center mag. http://www.cabelas.com/ensemble/opti...rings/4228.uts
