what is the best deal on a lifetime membership out there right now?
Call the NRA, they may give you a special price for calling in. Otherwise, just keep your eyes open. They have for years now were offering Life Memberships for $250.00, but you may have to wait for the next special (if there is one). I would call in and see what they would do over the phone.

Don't hold your breath on a deal right now as they either just increased the membership price or will be at the end of the month (can't recall what the switch date was). They pretty much pissed me off back in the spring of 2013 after Sandy Hook when I purchased a 5-year membership at special pricing, then two days later they came out with the deal to buy Lifetime for $300. Called them up and asked if I could pay the difference to upgrade my 5-year purchase to the lifetime and they said no, I'd have to pay the full $300. Needless to say when my 5-years is up I won't be renewing.
