280 Rem go gauge to 30-06?

I'm thinking I should be able to do this but wanted to double check first.

Can I use my 280 Rem go / no go gauges to check headspace on a 30-06 barrel?

No! Case length on a 280Rem is longer than the case length on a 30/06. Wikipedia has the dimensions for both, or check the SAMMI drawings.

    No, a 30-06 (25-06,270) Go measures 2.0487( 2.49")", the 280 2.100", .051" longer head to shoulder.

So then fire forming 06 or 270 brass (requires) jamming the bullet?

When I made 280 cases (rifle showed up before the brass did) I created a false shoulder with a crush fit. Jamming the bullets should also work. I sized the necks up to 338 and then sized them with the .280 die.
