7x57 build

I know its not a savage ( i did built a .243 and .338-06 on savage actions though) I have a 95 Mauser in 7x57 that i learned to hunt and shoot with. I want to send if off to ER Shaw for re-barrel, bolt modification, blueing, and low safety. Has anyone done this with ER Shaw, and if you did what did you think of the job they did? And if your a fan of the 7x57 what barrel length do you prefer. i was thinking their contour 1 1/2 ( magnum sporter .600 @ muzzle ) finished at 24" ( im thinking 139, 140 and 150 grain pills ) . This is just a NY tree stand hunter maybe take out west if i get lucky in a few. And for stocks i was going with something from stockys or boyds. For some reason the pics wont load i will keep trying. Any and all thoughts are appreciated.

Good choice on the magnum sporter contour. I would go with 24" but that's just me. Just remember, the old 93 action has an operating pressure of 46,000 CUP so loads have to be kept mid range as maximum. I load for a DWM 93 Mauser and love it. Mine has been redone as a Mannlicher and it uses the original factory barrel cut to 20". I bought the rifle back in 1972 for the princely sum of $60 in a Clovis New Mexico gun shop. I don't know who the gunsmith was that sporterized the rifle but he did a wonderful job of reshaping the military stock into a Mannlicher configuration and fitting the nose cap. With the right load, it will shoot sub MOA at 100 yards. I still enjoy shooting the rifle all these years later.
