    Cleaning Air rifle

    Hello,
I just picked up a Gamo .177 pellet gun for the cheap.
Went to their site to read up on the basics and was surprised that they say not to oil the barrel after you clean it, to prevent the possibility of igniting the oil and raising pressures.
So, how do you prevent the barrel from rusting ?
    Thanks

I use Birchwood Casey "Barricade" in the bore of my air rifle and let it sit for a few minutes and then swab the bore good with two dry cotton pellets. I have no rust problems here in humid/damp Georgia.

The Barricade also works well in my black powder rifles, I can let them sit for six months in my safe w/o any rusting in the bore or around the lock area.
