    New Savage 220 Dirty Barrel?

I just bought a blued version of the 220 and just noticed how dirty the inside of the barrel is. Looks like it has fired a few rounds. However, the bolt and action show no proof of this?

I have cleaned out out barrel grease from several new guns but this looks and smells like burned residue. Is this possibly from the bluing process when they heat it up?

Noticed the same thing when looking down the barrel of my new 220. Doesn't smell of burned residue but does have a good amount of grease present. If you every get one with a clean bore, that's when you should get worried.

Savage test fires every firearm at the factory, both with a proof load and a couple standard loads for function testing of the feeding, extracting and ejecting.
