    116 fcss stock issue

Hi all, newbie here. I just purchased a weather warrior in 6.5x284 Norma and took the stock off to adjust the trigger before putting my scope on and i ran into a problem. When i put the stock back on, i noticed that the back end of the action where it v's and the safety is located doesn't look like it is sitting down on the stock properly. There is quite a Gap between the action and the stock and you can see the trigger springs. Is this normal for this gun or am i doing something wrong? This is my first savage so i'm not very knowledgeable about them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's fine. Savage floats the rear tang (area under the thumb safety) because the rear action screw is forward of the trigger. If the tang rested securely on the stock there, it could cause binding or stress on the action.

Welcome to the forum, by the way.
