    Wink Gun builders anonymous

Just a place to show support of fellow addicts of the gun building clan. I will start it off.

Hi, My name is Gary and i am an addict. I started a number of years ago putting Savage rifles together and have added AR's to the list of weapons i now build. Help!!!!!!!!! I can't seem to stop or even slow down for that matter. Maybe i should take up drinking as more people seem to understand that addiction.

I'd been off the build wagon for several years, but then I bought an Axis this summer....

Like they say, it only takes one to get you hooked again. Now I've got an AR build going, two additional stripped lowers just waiting to be built into something, and I have a nice walnut Savage S/A CF stock that I need to build into something.

I've done the AR thing, then the Savage thing and now onto Glocks. There's way too many willing enablers out there to help support these addictions!

    AK's, Glocks, Savage, reloading.

Not too very long ago I took my first hit of revolver. Although not as habit forming as the others, its moving up at a rapid pace.
I need to sign myself in to treatment in a long term facility.

I started with, and still, building H&R Handi-Rifles. It is by far one of the easiest and cheapest ways to get into custom chambering for your experimental needs. I have a 357 Mag reamed to 357 Maximum, a 45-70 reamed to 45-90, and just completed a 22 Hornet reamed to 221 Fireball. I have thought about possibly converting a 17 HMR to 17 Fireball, or 17 Hornaday Hornet.

Like Savage 10/110, you can fit more than one barrel to the H&R frame for a switch barrel outfit.

I have been looking at trying my hand at building Savage rifles and finally have a few donor rifles, a Model 11 223 Rem. a Model 11 243 Win. w/Accutrigger and a Stevens model 200 in 30-06. I want to build a 221 Fireball with one of the short actions and probably a 308 later. With the 243 bolt head, I can go to any case in the 308 family, and the 30-06 long action I can do anything in that case family.

BillPa, I think it was, ruined me on this very site about 10 years ago. Built a ton of Savages, AR's, and now on my first Remage that will be on one of the new Curtis Customs' Vector actions. I don't think there is a cure.

I just bought a revolver. I haven't owned a revolver since the Judge I bought 6 years ago. (One gun buy that I regret). Now I have purchased a Smith and Wesson 629 5" revolver. Now I'm interested in a 357 magnum preferably in a 4". Is there any help for this addiction?

I am more than sure that there is no cure... I am addicted to 22Lrs. Rifles and pistols, then I have to have an adequate supply of quality ammo, for plinking and target shooting. Thank god I am no longer a hunter or a competition shooter, I would have to collect all the latest ammo and equipment for that too.
