I saw they have a new rifle to compete with the Ruger precision rifle . The 10 BA stealth I think I'm gonna grab one looks really sweet

Best news I heard is that the Axis is being chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor.

That is good news, though it would be better if we knew that included the HB. Better still if they had introduced the Axis II HB!

I am a lefty so I lose out on both those options. If Savage does chamber the 6.5 CM in a heavy, somebody here will yank the factory barrel and install a custom. I figure the take-off will show up here. I have been considering just getting a custom barrel for one of my existing Savages in a heavy sporter/light varmint contour to use as a hunting rifle. The older I get the less I enjoy recoil. This year I never had the .30-06 out of the safe. Not even to verify zero. My last barrel was a .250 Savage that replaced my .22-250 barrel to make a light deer rifle.
