    New TX 1899 Owner.

When I was a kid working at a sporting goods store I always wanted a savage 99. My dad was of the opinion anything made by savage was junk. Fast forward nearly a half century walking through cabellas I found an 1899 made in 1912, crescent butt, no cracks in the stock in 303 savage unfortunately it.also had a scope attached. I picked it up anyways to mourn the destruction of a great rifle but then saw the scope was in.Stith mounts. The bore appears pristine with very little wear on the finish. The.scope had so many.years of accumulated dust it was impossible to see through.

It's.a beauty. Wish I could post.a pic. This rifle was just.sitting on the used rack and not in the gun library where it belonged.
