    New to me 93R question

I would like to mount a 40mm scope on it but, I saw were someone on another forum said because of the thicker barrel the front of his scope was touching the barrel. Anyone else have this problem?

Using scope rings with the correct height will determine proper clearance between the scope and barrel . You will have no problem mounting a 40mm scope .

I have the Nikon Rimfire rings and the Leupold rimfire/dovetail rings and a 40 mm mounts fine.

I'm looking at a BSA sweet 17 scope for this rifle.
It has an adjustable objective. Model # 17312X40AO to be specific.
Can someone tell me if it will clear the barrel at the front using med rings.

Side note- I know you get what you pay for in scopes. I own several Leupold, Zeiss Bushnell and Redfield scopes. This Rifle will be passed on to my young nephew at some point.

Really depends on who's medium rings as they're all different in height.

    My personal experience is this:

Factory 2pc. Weaver style bases + Medium Burris Signature Zee rings just barely clears with a 40mm objective, so an AO might not clear with that combo.

The other option is to swap out the factory supplied #15 bases for taller 2pc Weaver bases to get the necessary clearance.

    Weaver Bases:
    #15 0.195"
    #16 0.205"
    #43 0.265"
    #45 0.396"

Hahaha I got one on my .17hmr and it royally pi$$e$ me off to go from my Nikon or Redfield to it. Wish I could afford to run a sweet scope on every rifle, I'm getting there slowly!

So, I'm assuming you have owned one and did not like it.
What was it that you didn't like about it?

Just not clear like my others. Don't get me wrong it works fine for the 17. Low light is no good, but for popping squirrels and rabbits it gets the job done. I never new my BSA wasn't clear until I joined this site!

The last sentence made me laugh! I paid $55.XX for mine (NIB). If it doesn't perform it will be replaced. Not because of its price. LOL!

Dnz medium one piece mount works with a 44 mm witth or without removing the rear sight of that helps buddy. I saw its to be passed down so I threw that out just in case you opt for a one piece mount..

The DNZ will be my next upgrade after I get to shoot it. One more week and I'll be home!
